The first two episodes ofThe Witcherhad plenty of stuff I liked and plenty of stuff I didnt.
But if Im really being honest, thisis what I was hoping to see all along.
So far,The Witcherhas mostly been content to tell extremely simple stories in an extremely complicated world.
All that turns out to be a lie, of course.
The ultimate solution turns out to be pretty knotty.
In brief: The unmarried King Foltest had an incestuous sexual relationship with his late sister, Adda.
This outraged Ostrit, one of Temerias higher-ranking knights, who had fallen in love with Adda.
(Print the legend, etc., etc.)
(His dream would be a slow suicide for her, she protests.)
Its not for nothing thatThe Witcherintercuts the horrifying sequence of Yennefers physical transformation with Geralts confrontation with the striga.
Dara tries to stop her from following and gets shot (non-fatally) with an arrow.
Well played, Netflix.
All right, weve gotten enough context clues that Im pretty sure we can put the whole timeline together.
Each of the three main stories is taking place in a different time.
And last is clearly Ciri, since all of her stuff takes place after Calanthes death.
Per the prostitute, one of Geralts previous adventures found him battling a vampiress.
Show us that one!
Whats the conversion rate between that and 150 ducats to stop a demon?
