And dear God, I love it.

InThe Lost World, he does, and they do.

They die agonizingly, in the pitch-black dread of night.

(The movie should have been calledDont Mess With T. Thats not to say, however, that the film does not have a soul.

The Lost Worldfurther explores the parental protective impulse.

So the movies not perfect.

But that sort of adds to its deep, personal weirdness.

Its very awkwardness reveals how much hes changed.

In many ways, it makes sense thatThe Lost Worldwould betray the precision and wholesomeness ofJurassic Park.

AndThe Lost Worldwill always stand out to me as among the most conflicted and most beautiful.
