I think because it was such good times making that thing.
It was all easy-breezy the whole time.
There was very little adversity in the process.
Everything just worked out the whole time.
And we have really good jokes from that time, some all-timer jokes for us.

Last year, you and Dave Portner performedSung Tongsin its entirety for a string of sold-out dates.
What was it like revisiting that time in your life, back when you still lived in New York?
[Lennox moved to Portugal soon after the release ofSung Tongs.
I hadnt seen him in six or seven years probably.
Weve sent emails to each other and just kind of said What up?
And I had kinda just come off all theSung Tongstours.
It takes more muscles.
So then we got together again.
So what does sad reggaeton Panda Bear sound like?Buoys!
And theres really no bass guitar like in dub, theres like nothing in that area.
Those frequencies are just shoved deeper down.
Guys like Jobim, Joao Gilberto.
I didnt know about Tropicalia until, like, way later.
OnBuoys, you also use Auto-Tune for the first time.
Was that coming from you, or was that a suggestion from Rusty?
So when I told Rusty I was looking for something like that, that was his suggestion.
He thought we could get something using that.
But I mean, that inspiration is not something new for us.
It had like this skittery rhythm that felt really new for radio music at the time.
Also thatAaliyah song with the cooing baby.
I felt more warranted doing that because thats just the landscape now.
Do you keep up with new hip-hop?Its more on the production side of it.
Thats the stuff that is really juicy for me.
Theres a lot of YouTube videos of Zaytoven where hes just making stuff all the time.
And the speed that he does it at.
I dig how he goes about constructing the stuff.
Swae Lees one of my favorites.
I like Metro Boomin, too.
Zaytoven will do some playing, but its all very manufactured music.
He wouldnt say it, but he might have not wanted it there.
He was really against any playing of any kind.
You have a teenage daughter now.
My younger son Jamie might be kind of down for it in the future.
I feel like its possible.
So you just ruined trap music for her?I dont think it sounds enough like trap.
The rhythms are so different, I dont think itll ruin it for her.
Its all like that.
I really wanted the listener to feel loved more in like a family way.
A few times on the album you mention screens, looking up from them and the like.
I felt like the stuff that Im talking about is most valuable for a young person to consider.
