In its fifth and final season,Jane the Virginis still the same show its always been.
Its pace is just as lickety-split, diving and swooping through one wild plot development after another.
Thats true for reasons I cannot and would never want to spoil forJanefans.
The show has always been self-aware.
Ive spoken with its showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman and many members of its cast and crew.
Its a show Ive thought about a lot over the last five years.
Turning it on felt like being in a dark house and opening a window.
I have never truly felt objective about the show.
ButJane the Virginfeels like an especially appropriate show for this kind of relationship.
So much of Jane and her familys lives have been shaped by telenovelas.
One of my favorite scenes Ive seen in season five comes in the third episode.
