We need justice for George Floyd, the singer says in an Instagram video posted Friday night.
We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight.
Were broken and were disgusted.
We cannot normalize this pain.
Im not only speaking to people of color.
No more senseless killings of human beings.
No more seeing people of color as less than human.
We can no longer look away.
George is all of our family, and humanity, she continues.
Hes our family because hes a fellow American.
There have been too many times that weve seen these violent killings, and no consequences.
Yes, someones been charged, but justice is far from being achieved.
