(Justin Therouxs apartment has three saunas, but only one bedroom.)
When the writers started pitching celebrity homes and Thoreuxs name came up, everyone immediately had ideas.
(We just wrapped it up and its in storage, Clark says of its current whereabouts.
Its not hanging in my living room right now.)
It perhaps helps that Theroux is friends with Marino, enough for theManiacactor to havecrashed his Colbert appearancelast month.
He thought it was funny.
The Bathroom Motorcycle
That was our first no-brainer for his house.
We were like,Well, we know he has a motorcycle toilet.
Lets think of what else could be in there.
We just thought it was funny and dumb, Kelly says.
She imagined a spare cement bathroom in the style ofJapanese architect Tadao Ando.
How would that motorcycle toilet actually function?
Its like a silly straw, Schneider adds.
I just want to put this out into the world.
The Walk-In Boot Closet
For this build, Clarks inspiration came from another celebritys home.
This room also ended up dictating the others in the apartment.
Thats why the living room only has concrete chairs and theres no couch at all.
The pool was so dramatic and ridiculous an indoor pool in New York City isinsane, Kelly says.
Bonus selling point: The art on the walls was already there.
There are hundreds of speakers all over the house and we had to strategically cover them, Kelly says.
Justin can havesomespeakers in his house.
But we dont think his vibe is speaker showroom.
We think its motorcycle boot closet.
What could that look like mixed with a little bit more of a cool, dark, masculine aesthetic?
And I didnt want it to be completely,Oh, this is silly.
It was a huge ordeal, she says.
The Home Church
The concept for this room in particular went through multiple iterations.
In the end, a church was deemed easier to pull off in the space and budget.
Also, the church was funnier.
Reflect on his beauty, reflect on his fashion, reflect on his art.
